ASEAN Economic Community Support
Uncover our role in shaping quality tourism and marketing Singapore’s multi-faceted appeal as a premier business and leisure destination offering unique experiences to all visitors.
ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan (ATSP)
The ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan 2016-2025 (ATSP) seeks to make a greater contribution towards the ASEAN integration goal in moving to an economic growth scenario that is more “inclusive,” “green”, and “knowledge-based.”
To achieve this, there is a need to take a more strategic approach to address challenges in marketing, quality standards, human resource development, connectivity, investment, community participation, safety and security, and natural and cultural heritage conservation.
In this context, the vision for ASEAN by 2025 is that “ASEAN will be a quality tourism destination offering a unique, diverse ASEAN experience, and will be committed to responsible, sustainable, inclusive and balanced tourism development, so as to contribute significantly to the socio-economic well-being of ASEAN people.”
Deepening tourism cooperation with ASEAN and our dialogue partners

ASEAN Tourism Forum 2024
Singapore is committed to working closely with other ASEAN Member States to continue our collective efforts in areas such as enhancing regional connectivity, supporting sustainable initiatives, encouraging people-to-people movement, and promoting Southeast Asia as a single tourism destination.
As the lead cruise tourism coordinator for ASEAN, we will continue to help shape the development of cruise tourism in Southeast Asia to be a cruising region of choice. With 10 countries in close sailing proximity, along with calm waters and a year-round tropical climate, Southeast Asia is a fast-growing cruising destination for visitors to explore the diverse culture and experiences each destination has to offer. Through the introduction of sailing itineraries within Southeast Asia, cruise tourism in Southeast Asia will contribute to attracting more visitors and economic benefits to our communities within the region.
Currently, Singapore Tourism Board is the vice-chair of the ASEAN Tourism Resourcing, Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (ATRMEC) from 2024 to 2026, which oversees ASEAN financial resources and the implementation of the monitoring and evaluation framework. We also chair the ASEAN Tourism Marketing Partnership Working Group, which develops and provides strategic guidance, as well as executes the region's tourism marketing activities in collaboration with other ASEAN Member States.
