Tourism Industry Conference (TIC) 2022
Expressing optimism about tourism reopening, Singapore Tourism Board (STB) focused on directing collective efforts towards recapturing international travel market share. Our overarching theme, "Gearing Up for Tourism Recovery," reflected our commitment to leading the way for Singapore, becoming a frontrunner in the region to seize pent-up travel demand.
Key Highlights from TIC 2022
Welcome Address by Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry & Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, Mr Alvin Tan
Mr Alvin Tan, Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry & Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, commends the resilience of Singapore’s tourism industry during the pandemic. He outlines various support initiatives aimed at facilitating seamless travel and underscores the importance of reopening safely. Mr Tan also introduces plans to enhance Singapore’s appeal as an attractive destination by promoting sustainable and wellness tourism, including the launch of the Tourism Sustainability Programme.

Mr Keith Tan, Chief Executive of the Singapore Tourism Board, thanks partners in the tourism industry for their resilience during the pandemic and outlines the path forward. He emphasises the need to differentiate Singapore through unique services and experiences. Key initiatives include ramping up the SingapoReimagine international recovery campaign, promoting sustainability and wellness tourism, and enhancing business tourism. Mr Tan also calls for increased innovation, collaboration, and capability building to secure Singapore’s position as one of the world’s most innovative and well-loved destinations.

Singapore: Reopening to the World – Plenary Session 1
Ms Juliana Kua, Assistant Chief Executive (International Group), Singapore Tourism Board, moderates a panel on Singapore’s efforts in reopening to the world. Joining her on the panel are:

They underscore the importance of technology and partnerships to attract travellers and urge industry stakeholders to innovate and boost product discoverability through digital platforms and social media in preparation for recovery.
Reimagine Marketing for Recovery: Balancing Reactivity & Longevity – Plenary Session 2
Ms Jessica Berger, Vice President, Innovation, Publicis Media, opens with a presentation discussing challenges and opportunities in reinventing the tourism experience and reimagining marketing for recovery.
Following the presentation, Mr Chang Chee Pey, Assistant Chief Executive (Marketing Group), Singapore Tourism Board, moderates a panel on reimagining marketing for post-pandemic travel recovery. Joining him on the panel are:

They stress the importance of authentic marketing and building trust with customers to navigate the evolving travel landscape effectively.
