About Jurong Lake District

Artist impression of the integrated tourism development at Jurong Lake District
Jurong Lake District (JLD) is poised to become Singapore’s largest mixed-use business district outside of the central area. It will be a sustainable, green, and car-lite precinct that redefines how people can live, work, and play. As JLD draws more businesses and residents, we expect strong demand for high-quality leisure activities and short-term accommodation.
By 2040 to 2050, JLD is expected to create 100,000 new jobs and 20,000 new homes, adding to the 1 million residents already in the West Region. Spanning 410 hectares, it will be the focus of new developments in the next two decades, with more than 120 hectares of land available for development over the next 30 years. The Tourism Development located here will attract footfall from existing and new residents in the area and benefit from the vibrancy of Jurong Lake District when it is fully developed.
Introducing a new integrated Tourism Development

Figure 1: Map of Jurong Lake District
The new integrated Tourism Development will be developed to attract footfall from tourists as well as residents in the area. It will benefit from the vibrancy of the district when it is fully developed, and is part of an exciting leisure and recreational precinct that has been planned around the 70-hectare Jurong Lake to complement the new mixed-use district.
Adjacent to the new Science Centre and Singapore’s latest national garden, Jurong Lake Gardens, this iconic development is part of Singapore’s initiative to enhance its tourism experiences and attractiveness in the western part of Singapore. The direct connection of the site to the Chinese Garden MRT station on the East-West Line (EWL) also makes the Tourism Development more accessible via public transportation from the city centre.

What to note in your proposal for this Tourism Development
Investors are invited to propose world-class and distinctive concepts that offer a unique and compelling mix of tourism offerings. The concepts should leverage technology to create fun, enriching, immersive, and memorable experiences that capture visitors’ imagination. The different components should also complement each other and be well integrated in form and function.
The proposed concepts should become a key purpose-of-visit for local and international visitors, driving repeat visitorship and growth in tourism receipts. They should not only set new standards, but also align well with the masterplan and positioning for Jurong Lake District, as well as integrate seamlessly with adjacent leisure offerings, such as Jurong Lake Garden and Science Centre. We are looking for pioneering leisure experiences that will be a purpose-of-visit driver to Jurong.
